Learning in Class Campion
Children in Class Campion learn and progress in a variety of exciting ways.
This is what learning in Campion looks like:
Directed Activities consisted of a range of activities, carefully planned out, which are adult let. These activities meet the needs of the children in our class whilst following the Year 1 Curriculum. Children will participate in whole class or group activities, being supported by a member of staff, in various ways, throughout.
Enhanced provision involves the use of extra materials and resources provided to the children to enable ‘learning through play’ to become more focused.
This helps us to build on the observations that we have made while watching children play creatively in the provision areas. We provide special themes and activities part of enhanced provision.
We use this as a way to tailor and bolster the children’s independent learning techniques, and help students to broaden their horizons.
Continuous provision refers to the resources provided in our classroom for children to interact with creatively, which they have access to every day. This encourages the children to learn completely independently.
The continuous provision our classroom inspires the children to be active learners, make independent choices, and foster their innate curiosity to explore and play. Children have opportunities for autonomy and are able to make their own choices about what they would like to learn and what they would like to return to.
Children have all been given individual passwords to access Mathletics and Purple Mash from home, this is a really useful online learning tool to support your child’s learning from home.
Here are some useful links to help with home learning.
Homework will be uploaded on a Wednesday to be handed back in by the following Wednesday.
Spellings will be handed out on a Wednesday and tested on the following Wednesday.
Home readers will be given out on Friday. They will be collected back in to change on a Thursday.
Books cannot be changed on any other days of the week.
Please ensure that your child reads for fluency and understanding (ask them lots of questions).
Our P.E day for this term is a Wednesday. Children must have a full P.E. kit, including pumps, in order to participate safely. This is also part of our Uniform Policy. Your child can come into to school in a tracksuit, trainers with their PE kit underneath and bring their pumps in their bag.
