2020 2021 SCHOOL SPORTS PREMIUM FINAL FINAL

Over the last few years the pupils of Saints Peter and Paul have had a vast array of experiences funded by the School sports premium. They have enjoyed lots of Extra curricular activities in the form of: Football, Quidditch, Cross Country Basket ball, Tag Rugby, multi skills clubs, Cricket, Badminton, Golf, gymnastics, dance and cheerleading.

All of the children who have took part in these activities gained points towards Children’s University and also graduated – taking part in a ceremony at Hope University, Liverpool – experiencing a Cap and Gown Ceremony!

The overall quality of pupils skills in PE and Sport has increased over the last couple of years due to increased participation in Sport and PE and having PE coaches coming into school to upskill the pupils in their field of expertise.

Many of the sports teams from different year groups have been to many Knowsley competitions and lots of these teams have made it to finals in recent years. The Football teams from Y6, Y1 and Y4 (2019 – 2020) won the Knowsley Everton football competition and were to go forward to the Merseyside Games Finals, unfortunately with the current Pandemic the Merseyside Games did not take place.

During 2020 – 2021 – school took part in Virtual competitions and many of our pupils won the virtual sports competitions in Knowsley!

When competing in Cross Country last school year many of our Boys and Girls finished in the top ten of their races. One pupil was invited to run for Knowsley in the Merseyside Cross Country race in the Autumn.

A big well done to all the classes who took part in the Daily Mile event last week, they were awarded a certificate for taking part.

School was awarded a School Games badge for the participation of our children in sports and PE during Covid 19 Lockdown 2020, and the school games mark award in 2020 – 2021
