Year 5/6 – Miss Connolly
Teaching assistants – Mrs Scotland, Mrs Peake and Miss McMahon
Please keep an eye on this page for home learning tasks. A generic ‘suggested’ timetable was sent home in the children’s home learning packs, however I will update this page every Sunday with specific tasks to be completed and will post on our class Twitter page too throughout the week.
DON’T FORGET, WHERE POSSIBLE PLEASE TWEET EXAMPLES OF CHILDREN’S WORK. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM AND SHARE WITH THE REST OF THE CLASS @ClassRigby
Have a great week!

Homework is given out every Wednesday and is expected to be returned on or before the following Wednesday. Your child will receive one piece of maths homework as well as one piece of SPAG homework that will relate to what they have been learning that week in class.
Please remember homework club is available on Thursdays 3.15-3.45
As well as receiving homework on a Wednesday your child will also get spellings to learn which will be tested the following Wednesday. Please make sure your child learns their spellings each week. Every 3 weeks we will do a consolidation test on the past forte five spellings your child has learnt.
See spelling lists below:
Our PE day for this half term is Wednesday. As we will be doing gymnastics first thing, please make sure that your child comes to school wearing their full PE kit with their full uniform in a bag.
Every two weeks, the children will receive a learning log which they will have two weeks to complete. Children are expected to complete two A4 pages in their learning logs and are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Good examples of learning logs will be posted on the class twitter page every few weeks. Learning logs will be peer assessed on the day that they are due in.
Our learning log topic this week is:
Children should choose a topic that they are interested in. This could include; a county, different cultures, news around the world, a historical event etc…
