HOME SCHOOLING DURING CORONA VIRUS CLOSURE

Latest Government advice – 27th April 2020

GOVERNMENT UPDATES

These were the few relevant documents which were released over the weekend with the relevant links:

  1. Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance for schools and other educational settings this document provides guidance and advice about Coronavirus (COVID-19) in educational settings for staff, parents and carers, pupils and students. Added guidance has been included on   ‘Using clusters and hubs to maintain educational provision’ and ‘Changes to school admission appeals due to coronavirus’.
  2.   Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus outbreak: this publication provides actions in relation to what childcare services early years settings, childminders and local authorities need to provide during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. An update has been included to reflect changes in Early Years Statutory Framework.
  3. Early years foundation stage statutory framework (EYFS): This is the direct link to the document  referenced above and sets out the  standards that school and childcare providers must meet for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5. The document has had added guidance included to reflect the temporarily disapplication, and modification of certain elements of the EYFS statutory framework in light of COVID -19.

Knowsley Council Early Help Hub

We know that some families may be finding it stressful and harder to cope during these difficult times. We don’t want people to struggle and we have a team of staff who can talk you through any issues and offer you some advice and guidance.

Contact the Freephone helpline on 0800 073 0043 and ask for your information to be passed onto the Early Help Hub and one of our staff will call you back.

Or you could complete the online form by clicking the ask for help and support on this link https://www.knowsleynews.co.uk/community-hub/

During the school closure from Friday 20th March 2020 teachers will upload work onto the class pages for children to complete at home.

From the website home page click on ‘Pupils’ and choose your child’s class tab.

Welcome to our website

May I, on behalf of the Governors, staff and children, welcome you to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Primary School and thank you for your interest in our website.

At Saints Peter and Paul we believe it is important that, as a parent or carer, you feel welcome in our school.

This website is designed to give you a brief insight into the life of our school and to answer some of your questions, as well as allowing access to documents, newsletters, children’s  homework, spelling and much more.

Education is a partnership between home, school and church. The co-operation and participation of parents with our school in the education of your child is positively encouraged. The best schools are those with strong links and good relationships with the parents. We hope that you will feel confident in approaching us at school with any questions or worries you may have.

This is a happy, vibrant school where all children are given the opportunity of learning in a Christian environment. We have an excellent range of provision that will allow your child to flourish in all areas.

The first priority of the school is always the safety of the children and we will safeguard our children on all occasions and in all eventualities.

This website is intended to introduce you to our school, however it is in no way a substitute for the school itself. You are always most welcome to visit by prior arrangement, to view the school at  work and to meet the staff and pupils.

Mrs Joanna Mousley
